Umberto de Julio
Direttore Generale della STET, ItaliaUmberto de Julio, laureato in Ingegneria Elettronica all'Università di Roma. Dopo aver svolto attività di ricerca presso la Fondazione Ugo Bordoni, nel 1972 è entrato a far parte della Sip dove ha ricoperto vari incarichi fino a diventare:
- nel 1985 Responsabile della Rete della Lombardia
- nel 1986 Responsabile di tutta la Rete Sip
Con la creazione di TELECOM ITALIA nel 1994, è diventato Responsabile della Divisione Rete.
Dal febbraio 1995 è passsato in Stet - Società Finanziaria che controlla tutte le attività di telecomunicazioni - come Condirettore Generale Stet con la responsabilità della pianificazione e controlllo strategico, dell'innovazione e sviluppo tecnologico e dello sviluppo dei nuovi servizi con particolare riferimento alla multimedialità.
E' membro del Consiglio di Amministrazione di Telecom Italia, Telecom Italia Mobile, Cselt e Stet International.
Gran parte della Sua attività è stata dedicata allo sviluppo di nuovi sistemi, reti e servizi di telecomunicazioni anche nell'ambito degli Organismi Internazionali preposti allo studio ed alla normativa delle telecomunicazioni (CCITT, CEPT, ecc.).
Attualmente è Presidente dell'Assemblea Generale di EURESCOM (Istituto Europeo per la Ricerca e gliu Studi Strategici nelle Telecomunicazioni), è inoltre Vice Presidente Generale dell'AEI (Associazione Elettrotecnica ed Elettronica Italiana) ed è membro della FITCE e dell'IEEE.
E' autore di numerosi lavori pubblicati su riviste e congressi nazionali ed internazionali.

Umberto de Julio has a degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Rome. After having carried out research for the Fondazione Ugo Bordoni, he joined Sip in 1972 where he has held various positions before becoming:
-Head of the Lombardia network in 1985
-Head of the whole Sip network in 1986
With the creation of Telecom Italia in 1994, he became head of the Network Division. In February 1995 he became Stet's - a financial company that controls all telecommunication activities - Co-Managing Director in charge of planning and control strategy, innovative and developing technology and development of new services, in particular in the multimedia sector. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Telecom Italia, Telecom Italia Mobile, Cselt and Stet International.
A large part of his work has been dedicated to the development of new systems, networks and telecommunication services, as well as research with International Organizations dedicated to the study and the normativeness of telecommunications (CCITT, CEPT, etc).
He is presently President of the General Assembly of EURESCOM (European Institute for the Research and Strategic Studies of Telecommunications), Vice President of AEI (Italian Electrotechnic and Electronic Association) and a member of FITCE and IEEE.
He is the author of numerous published papers.
